Watch it work

The product tutorial, start to finish.

Read it written up on the forum — the same walkthrough, with the numbers, and somewhere to ask.

Plough with a hoe, plant, water with a clay jar, wait seven days, then pick with a small basket. Five harvests per plot, roughly five to ten herb each time.

You plant the herb itself — there is no seed. To start a plot you need that herb already — how many is in the list below — either foraged with the compass's herb menu or bought from another colonist. After that the garden feeds itself: five harvests from one planting leaves plenty to replant with. Dozens of herbs are accepted — the full list is below — chamomile, yarrow, lavender, sage, mint, thyme, rosemary, basil and foxglove among them.

It pays Herbalist crafting experience. The herbs go to the cooking station, into cured and smoked meats at the butcher, and into alchemy — where they are the base of every potion.
